GNIS GEOGRAPHIC NAMES INFORMATION SYSTEM 2020-11-13 ground condition The Integrated Compliance Information System (ICIS) provides a database that, when complete, will contain integrated enforcement and compliance information across most of EPA's programs. The vision for ICIS is to replace EPA's independent databases that contain enforcement data with a single repository for that information. ICIS contains all Federal Administrative and Judicial enforcement actions which supports the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). This information is maintained in ICIS by EPA in the Regional offices and it at Headquarters. ICIS completely replaces Permit Compliance System (PCS) and integrates that information with Federal actions already in the system. ICIS also has the capability to track other activities that support compliance and enforcement programs, including incident tracking, compliance assistance, and compliance monitoring. ICIS INTEGRATED COMPLIANCE INFORMATION SYSTEM 2020-11-13 ground condition The 2006 IUR includes information about chemicals manufactured or imported in quantities of 25,000 pounds or more at a single site during calendar year 2005. In addition to the basic manufacturing information collected in previous reporting cycles, the 2006 cycle is the first time EPA collected information to characterize exposure during manufacturing, processing and use of organic chemicals. The 2006 cycle also is the first time manufacturers of inorganic chemicals were required to report basic manufacturing information. NCDB NATIONAL COMPLIANCE DATABASE ground condition The National Emissions Inventory contains information about stationary and mobile sources that emit criteria air pollutants and their precursors, as well as hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). NEI NATIONAL EMISSIONS INVENTORY ground condition The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) module of the Integrated Compliance Information System (ICIS). Under NPDES, all facilities that discharge pollutants from any point source into waters of the United States are required to obtain a permit. The permit will likely contain limits on what can be discharged, impose monitoring and reporting requirements, and include other provisions to ensure that the discharge does not adversely affect water quality. NPDES NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM (ICIS-NPDES) ground condition The Radiation Information System (RADINFO) contains information about facilities that are regulated by US EPA for radiation and radioactivity. RADINFO RADIATION INFORMATION SYSTEM ground condition The RACT/BACT/LAER Clearinghouse (RBLC) database contains case-specific information on the best available air pollution technologies that have been required to reduce the emission of air pollutions from stationary sources. RACT, or Reasonably Available Control Technology, is required on existing sources in areas that are not meeting national ambient air quality standards. BACT, or Best Available Control Technology, is required on major new or modified sources in clean areas. LAER, or Lowest Achievable Emission Rate, is required on major new or modified sources in non-attainment areas. RBLC RACT/BACT/LAER CLEARINGHOUSE ground condition The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Information System (RCRAInfo) is EPA's comprehensive information system in support of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) of 1976 and the Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments (HSWA) of 1984. It tracks many types of information about generators, transporters, treaters, storers, and disposers of hazardous waste. RCRAINFO RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND RECOVERY ACT INFORMATION SYSTEM ground condition The Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) Program encourages the blending of renewable fuels into our nation's motor vehicle fuel by establishing annual renewable fuel standards, responsibilities of refiners and other fuel producers, a trading system and other compliance mechanisms, and recordkeeping and reporting requirements. In addition to the rule, EPA has published a Regulatory Impact Analysis (RIA), which contains analyses of the economic and environmental impacts of the expanded use of renewable fuels under this program. A renewable fuel is defined as a motor vehicle fuel that is produced from plant or animal products or wastes, as opposed to fossil fuel sources. Under TSCA, EPA has established reporting, record-keeping, testing, and control-related requirements for new and existing chemicals. TSCA TOXIC SUBSTANCES CONTROL ACT ground condition The Agency Compliance and Enforcement Systems (ACES) application supports the compliance and enforcement activities that exist primarily within the Illinois Bureaus of Air, Water, and Land, the Division of Legal Counsel, and the Office of Chemical Safety. The intent of the system is to track compliance and enforcement processes and to share the information throughout the agency, the public and with other entities. ACES AGENCY COMPLIANCE AND ENFORCEMENT SYSTEMS ground condition The Arizona Unified Repository for Informational Tracking of the Environment (AZURITE) is a database used by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) for environmental enforcement and compliance reporting to the Permit and Compliance System (PCS) and to the Air Facility System Universal Interface (AFS-UI).
